Weddings at Stourhead house and gardens
The iconic Wiltshire location from the film Pride and Prejudice, where Keira Knightley famously declines Mr Darcy's proposal at Apollo's Temple! Could there be a more beautiful and memorable location in the South West than Stourhead?
I am of course very biased, as it is where I proposed and got married in 2024, and spend many happy days exploring Stourhead with my wife, children and the dog!
I have photographed weddings in the church and the Gothic cottage by the side of the lake. I have also captured proposals within the gardens and they offer the most stunning backdrop for your photos, all year round! The colours in autumn are spectacular, but even on a rainy day (like the first gallery below) it is the perfect place to embrace the nature around you.
After the ceremony I tend to take the couple for a few photos together around the lake, on the iconic bridge and around the gardens. For those wanting to capture some more formal group shots, we can either use the impressive structures like Apollo's temple as a backdrop, or the gardens for couples wishing to be more discrete.
